to main
Bells on Sunday is a 1-3 minute recording of church bells somewhere different the UK each Sunday. Here for your listening pleasure, are a few examples of "Bells On Sunday", which can be found on Radio 4. To jump directly Bells On Sunday, follow the link.
Bells on Sunday is a production of the BBC (British Broadcasting Corportation). It's an example of the programming variety the Brits get to listen to, free of commercials. The BBC is paid for out of television license fees collected from each person owning a TV set in the UK. That's right, the Brits pay 116 pounds per year (about $192) for this license. Of the 2.37 billion pounds collected, about 12% goes to radio and 2% goes to making the radio available online, which is how I listen to BBC Radio Broadcasts. Thank you, Brits!
